I think you were a bitch, but not a heartless one. I mean, he did give and do all that lovery dovery stuff but you stated you didnt do much for him. Not really a great way to start things off. But THEN again, he seems to be too good to be true. Men like that wear off I think. They are very sweet in the beginning only to turn into a devil later.

I think its best to let it go!

Hey Tink, why is this Dickhead guy worse than any other guy you have seen? The age old expression is nice guys finish last and maybe it should be change to nice ppl finish last.

From the sounds of it, it sounds like he was never into you and you were a fall back for him when he was in need. You seem like a very smart gal and it is unfortunate you could not see the signals earlier.

This Dickhead seems like a lot of males and females I know and all you can do is learn from this experience and move forwards.

Thanks Kristian … I would definitely recommend Online Dating. As long as your careful, and treat it like any other form of dating, you’ll be fine.
Since my first online date with the Officer, I have since met some nice people, non of whom lied about their height!

This is a great post, I love it (no pun intended). It’s really nice to read.

I often contemplate if I should try online dating; there are so many out there and they’re always in your face whether it’s TV ads or ads in programs (IMs being one thing that annoys me quite a bit).

Will see how it goes, but at least I have a nice list of what to do and what not to do.

I think if you where friends originally, it’s harder to go back to being friends again, because you expect it to be the way it used to be, but it will never just how it was again.

I love no.6 on your ‘If’ list. It made me chuckle.
I definitely agree with no.1 and no.3 – if your still really attracted to them, or jealous upon seeing them with someone else, then steer clear of the ex, friendship is probably a no go!
However I don’t agree with number no.2, I have one particular ex-boyfriend who I am very close friends with BECAUSE we have strong emotional connections … but then again, we were friends for a while before we were boyfriend/girlfriend, so I suppose that raises the question of should you only be friends with an ex, if they were your friend originally?? Hmmm, that’s something for me to ponder over.
In the meantime, this blog post has made me peckish – I’m off to buy some salty butter and Jacobs crackers!
