The expression “you deserve a medal” is never more true than after completing a marathon. But I believe you deserve more than a piece of race day bling after running a very tough 26.2 miles – and it seems the London foodie scene agrees with me.
Complete the London marathon this Sunday and your finishers medal becomes your golden ticket to foodie heaven. I’ve hunted down the London venues that are offering free food & drinks to those who can proudly flash their marathon medal. I even discovered some FREE pre-marathon fuel too. So whether your full-bore carnivore, a hungry veggie or a super-strict vegan, there is something for everyone…

DID YOU KNOW…??
…that London mararthon runners get free travel on the tube on race day. All you need to do is flash your race number/bib to a member of staff at the station to allow them to let you through (rumour has it you get free travel all around London all day, so if I was you, I would try and milk it – get flashin’ that bib.)
There you have it. So much delicious food on offer for all you lucky marathon participants, plus drinks, and don’t forget about your free travel!
Good luck to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU running, walking, shuffling, or even simply turning up to try and do those 26.2 miles this Sunday. I’ll be watching you all and cheering on from the sidelines.
Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. The hard part is over, now all that is left to do is run.
Look after yourself and stay hydrated!
