Happy Monday to all of you near and far.
How is life?
Life for me is good…ish. If I’m being honest, I’m a bit caught up at the moment with the whole job, career, what is my futrure aspect of my life. You may remember I quit my job last year to pursue blogging and writing, but then I began freelancing back in January for extra (and much needed) cash. But as of June I’ll once again be back to full time blogging, however, I’m not even sure if that’s the right thing for me to do anymore.
I feel like at 30 I’m supposed to have my life together, yet I’ve hit a road where I’m like I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Well, that’s not true, I do know what I want to do, I want to write fiction, but that’s not something I can just send off my CV for and ace an interview. Becoming a fiction writer is something that is going to take a lot of time, effort and patience, and something I am having to work on in my own personal time. And I absolutely love full time blogging, but I have to admit, dropping from my salary to my blogger income has been a much bigger struggle than I imagined.
So I’m currently doing a bit of soul searching to find out what I want to do career wise. I’m thinking about trying to join the Travel & Tourism industry, but it’s a bit difficult when I’ve spent most of my twenties working for a TV Network. But I’m willing to start from the bottom. I want to find a job I am really passionate about, something I wake up and look forward to doing every day. I had that passion once, and I want it back dammit!
So yeah. That’s what’s happening at the moment. But it’s not all job hunting and soul searching. I’ve got some awesome blog stuff going on at the moment and I have some Amazing blogger trips coming up that I can’t wait to share with you. But for now, here are a few things that have been making me smile like a Cheshire cat over the past three weeks…
Hanging out with Emma J
A few weeks ago I got to review the Every Hotel Piccadilly for my blog, and invited Emma from Lipstickandtrainers.com to join me. We ended up having a cracking night on the town, involving yummy food, lots of Prosecco, and one too many shots. Read the full blog post here.
Bowling, Beers & Beef in Bristol
A few weekends ago the Beard and I headed to Bristol to do nothing but eat, drink and be merry. Friends of ours took us to some amazing places, including a really cool hostel where you can bowl and an incredible steak restaurant, both of which I am currently writing blog posts about. I love Bristol and always have such a nice time there, I love that the city is covered in graffiti and art and everyone is so friendly.
My Sister got married on the 6th of May. It was a spectacular day, she looked Beautiful, the service was Beautiful, the hotel was fantastic, food amazing, drinks flowing, but best of all I got to wear a Vera Wang Dress that I am still inlove with, and will definitely be wearing again (there are pics on my IG and Twitter)
Love, love, loving it. The light mornings, the light evenings and the T-shirt weather. Yes, more of this please.
My new Kate Spade Bag
Okay, okay, so I’m really not the shopper I once was and I’m not exactly a Fashionista, BUT, when my Sister presented me with this Beautiful Baby Pink Leather Kate Spade handbag, as a Thank you for being her bridesmaid, I fell inlove. It is beautiful. And so practical, it fits my DSLR in perfectly, with plenty of room spare.
Peace is the Mission – Major Lazer
Currently got this album on repeat. Perfect album to take you into Summer.
A Totally Diverse Brunch
So yesterday I got to try out some of Giraffes new Brunch menu. I took the Beard along with me and since one of the new dishes we were advised to try was a Middle Eastern dish, we decided to swap the usual Pancakes and Fry up for a totally diverse brunch, mixing Mexican with Middle Eastern and there was even a bit of Mediterranean style brunching thrown in there, all topped with tropical cocktails. Full Blog post in the works.
