HAPPY MONDAY ALL

I can’t believe I’m on Monday List No.4 already – where is the time going?

This week has been a bit of a hectic one, planning my Sisters Hen Do has been Priority no.1, alongside stuffing my face with Peanut M&M’s – the family sized bags. Sigh. It’s my latest addiction, one that I hope goes away very very soon because I have an amazing bridesmaid dress to wear in May and I refuse to look anything but Amazing in it!

*spits out the chocolate coated nuts*

*picks them back up and pops in mouth, because that was just silly … and a waste*

But seriously it just feels like time is racing by at the moment. I don’t actually have a free weekend now until mid-May, how has that happened? When did things get so cray cray? In fact even as I write this blog post I’m a little rushed off my feet, so shall we crack on with exactly what it is that has been making me do the Happy Dance over the past seven days?? Yes, lets…

A Butchery Masterclass
On Tuesday night I returned to Jamie Oliver’s Amazing Barbecoa for a Butchery Masterclass for Bloggers. To celebrate National Butchers Week (Christ there is a week for everything these days, I can’t keep up!) we were to be shown exactly how meat is butchered, in this case, a lamb. I was quick to jump onboard this event when I got my invite, but when it came to watching the Butcher extraordinaire and Barbecoa Sou chef begin to slice the animal up in front of me, I actually found myself feeling a little quesy, and I suddenly thought of how ashamed all my veggie friends would be of me.
But then I was fed a Lamb pasty that made my tastebuds tingle and my stomach cry out for more and I was like ‘who needs friends?’ We were then fed another six courses of delicious canapes and we were even given a cut of the lamb meat to take home to cook with a bottle of Old Fashioned (er, best Goody bag ever, right?)

Hanging out with Foodie Friends
Not only did I take fellow foodie and best friend Tammie along, and not only did I make some fab new foodie friends, but I got to be reunited with a few other Foodie bloggers that I just love! First there was Binny from BinnysKitchen.com whose instagram account I’ve been drooling over for months and whom I had the pleasure of meeting at last years Cosmo Blog Awards. Then there was Mel & Jon from YummyFeed.com who I met last year at a Bubbleology event and whose Instagram shots make me want to lick my screen! They are also hilarious, and together we all had such fun shoving meat into our mouths and elbowing each other out the way for the best shot of a glass of smoking Whiskey.

Family Time
On Saturday I spent the day with my Sister and my Nephew and it was just so nice to hang out with them all day without having to rush off anywhere. We went shopping in the morning and took Harry to the Toy Store and played on the magic stairs (thats the escalator to you and me). Then we had lunch in Costa before heading to Davids Bridal where I had my final dress fitting for my bridesmaid dress. Then we had dinner at her house and playtime with Harry, before finishing the day of with four episodes of Say Yes to the Dress (oh em gee, so good, I could easily binge on that program).

I’m in an eBbook
Well not technically me, you won’t see my face or anything, but you will see my recipe! You see earlier this year I made these homemade snackpot smoothies which went down a treat on Twitter. I was then approached by Furntire@work who were making a recipe book featuring healthy desk lunch recipes and they asked to feature one of my Smoothie Snackpots. Cool, right? You can download it HERE. It also features a recipe from Binnyskitchen too.

This makes me a professional food blogger now, surely?

Running in the spring
I went for a run in yesterdays Sunday sunshine and it was wonderful. Now that Spring is in full swing I feel like I’m going to enjoy my runs a lot more and that it will be easier to motivate myself to go (i.e. no more running in the freezing cold dark)

Fastest mile ever!
… and I ran my fastest mile in 7’45!

Zero Alcohol
Not to get all dramatic, but I have genuinely been questioning my alcohol intake recently. I won’t go into too much detail (let’s save that for another post shall we?) but I made a decision last Monday to massively cut down on alcohol. I’m going to try and drink on special occasions only! I know it will be a struggle as my social life is heavily reliant on boozing, but I’m happy to report that I didn’t touch a drop of alcohol this week. Not even at the Barbecoa Blogger event which was incredibly hard as I was being offered free Prosecco and whiskey cocktails left, right and centre, but I denied every glass. Not touching the booze has meant no hangovers this week and I had the most productive weekend of tidying, running, blogging and finalising all the plans for my Sisters Hen do next weekend. GO ME!!

One special occassion that I WILL be drinking at is the Hen Party next weekend. I’ve been planning it since last November and I can’t believe how quickly it has come around (or that the wedding is only six weeks away, like, how??) I’m unbelievably excited but also incredibly nervous. I’ve never been to a Hen weekend before so I was a little out of my depth planning it. But I have to admit it has brought back fun memories of working in events and PR and I’ve loved coming up with a theme and working around it … I just really really hope she and the other Hens like it, cos if not I’m screwed *gulp*

I’m also looking forward to Easter Sunday to chilling out with my family. Bring on the long weekend!

What has made you do the Happy Dance this week??
