Greig’s
26 Bruton Place, London, W1J 6NG
I’m not normally one for fancy-schmancy lunches, but last week my friend Tammie and I decided to be ladies who lunch. I’d spent a lot of my evenings that week watching Rich Kids of Beverly Hills (such bad TV but sooooo good at the same time) and I think I was craving a little taste of the luxury lifestyle, so we headed to a classy little place in Mayfair called Grieg’s Grill.
The restaurant is on a quiet little street away from all the hustle and bustle of Bond street, so it’s actually quite peaceful there. It was a gorgeous sunny day so we decided to sit outside to soak up the sun and the very rare peace and quiet. We ordered some some starters – a prawn cocktail for me and the salmon for Tammie – and within minutes I felt like a RKOBH, instagraming my food and sipping on a cold glass of white wine in the middle of the day *does a hair flip*
Grieg’s Grill is predominantly traditional British food, serving a mix of grilled meat and fish. Tammie ordered a steak, whilst I had went for Lamb cutlets with mint sauce. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted incredible. They are a little higher price-wise than what I would normally pay for a Saturday lunch (around £24 each) but I guess that’s what you pay for a top quality meal in Mayfair. Of course we didn’t pay that, fortunately Tammie busted out the Taste card, knocking 50% off our food bill – yippee.
If your looking for somewhere to lunch in London that is a little more sophisticated than your average burger joint, I absolutely recommend Greig’s Grill for a touch more class. The service is superb, it’s in a quiet and serene spot, and above all the food is incredible (as is the wine!) Plus, if you have a taste card, it’s works out a dam lot cheaper!
