If you go down to the Woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise! That surprise being delicious tea and cakes, and the woods actually being the Glade Rooms at Sketch.
To celebrate the release of Into The Woods on DVD Sketch are offering a one of kind ‘Tea in the Woods’ experience. Being a lover of Afternoon Tea I was thrilled to be invited along on a date with Disney to try out this incredible fairytale inspired food…
Sketch have clearly put so much thought and imagination into their fairytale bites. A green ‘Sand-Witch’ had been made – in fact there was an assortment of Sand-Witches – a Beanstalk tart and sat at the top of my stand was Little Red Riding Hood herself! Working our way from the bottom to the top, my friend and I also gorged on smoked salmon, quail egg and caviar, rhubarb cheescake and decadent chocolate cakes … oh goodness the chocolate cakes. They pretty much melted in my mouth. There were plenty of different tea’s to choose from, and there was also champagne available which obviously I couldn’t say no to, especially when it was served in such a beautiful 1920’s style glass.
The Sketch Glade Room really is the most perfect setting for such an enchanting Afternoon Tea. Whilst we sipped on our champers and popped a Little Red Riding Hood into our mouths, we looked around at the forest-green decor feeling like we ourselves were about to go on a magical adventure (and that we were – a cake adventure!) Everything felt so enchanting, and I mean everything; from the cutlery fit for a royal family, to the woodland-styled ceiling lights. Having the Into The Woods soundtrack played out in the background as we chatted away made the setting even more wonderful.
‘Tea in the Woods’ is only available for a limited time at Sketch so get booking. The launch coincides with the DVD release on May 18th and Sketch will run the Afternoon Tea until June 7th. If you love Disney and adore fairytales then this is the afternoon tea for you! And if you haven’t yet seen Into the Woods, be sure to watch the trailer below. The film stars Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt to name just a few.
