As someone who loves to get lost in a world of words, fiction and imaginary characters, I was absolutely over the moon when I received the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction Long List of Books to read, alongside a bottle of Baileys and a bottle of Baileys Chocolate Luxe* (don’t mind if I do).
The first book I chose to sit down and read (with a Baileys of course) was Emma Healy’s ‘Elizabeth is Missing’. It had been recommended to me by a friend and rightly so, I couldn’t put it down. Tomorrow (April 12th) the official short list is announced and I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed that ‘Elizabeth is Missing’ makes it onto the list. I’ve also heard great things about ‘The Paying Guests’ by Sarah Waters, ‘Station Eleven’ by Emily St. John Mandel and ‘Crooked Heart’ by Lissa Evans – I’m actually torn over which to start next.
But one thing is for sure, I’ll be settling down with a Baileys to enjoy whilst I read my next pick. I’ve never drank a lot of Baileys, but I tried and tested my own Baileys Latte the other weekend; I loved it so much I thought I would share the recipe. It’s quick and easy so why not download one of the Books onto your kindle, make yourself a tasty Baileys Latte and get lost in a world that is someone else’s. Does that not sound like a perfect Sunday evening?
Here is all you need:
50ml of Baileys
20ml of Fresh Coffee
– Heat up milk on the hob or in the microwave
– Once it’s steaming add to your glass.
– Pour in your hot fresh coffee
– Add in your 50ml of Baileys
Voila! Baileys Latte. Happy reading and be sure to check out the Short List tomorrow.
