I am ridiculously excited about the new Season of GIRLS. Even more so than last year. There are questions to be answered, romances lingering and more importantly – I NEED to see what Jessa is wearing! Whilst Hannah is by far my favourite character for being so annoying and so real (because admit it, we all have a bit of Hannah in us) and Shoshanna is the queen of accessories (whereas Marnie is just moany), it’s Jessa that steals my heart as the most stylish GIRL. I adore everything about Jessa’s look; from her bohemian fashion sense, to her everyday makeup and especially her hair. The great thing about GIRLS, and about Jessa in particular, is that her look is real life. There is no OTT Hollywood glamour with the perfect eyeliner and the pristine hard-to-do hairstyle. For this reason, I began playing around yesterday with my hair and makeup to do a bit of a Jessa inspired look. Obviously I intended to take some photos for the blog, but last minute I decided to film it. Please bear in mind I am in no way an expert at hair, or make-up, nor do I have a clue what I’m doing when it comes to filming, vlogging, or video editing (hence the bad angle that gives me 12 chins!) but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. I have no idea what is going on with Jessa’s hair in this photo – is it one plait? Is it a double braided halo? Who knows? Who cares? It looks beautiful. So I just played around to create a similar style. As for her makeup, the eye make-up in this look is simple and demure as are the cheeks, but it’s brightened up by the lips, in my case I used a plum lipstick. This look is great because it’s super easy, in fact one of the best things about it is Jessa’s fly away hairs, which we all get, but this style makes them look purposeful. And even better is that the make-up isn’t perfect; Jessa’s eye makeup looks a little messy which I love because it’s real! For this look I kept most of the makeup from Look No.1 except I’ve used less blusher, covering it with my rimmel powder to embrace a slighty pale look. I also added some black eyeliner along my lower lash line and swapped my plum lipstick for a deep dark, almost black gothic lipstick. See further product used below:
