If you haven’t been keeping track on Hannah Horvath her and friends – what have you been doing?? Three years ago HBO gave us GIRLS, a comedy-drama about females in their 20’s living in Brooklyn, New York. We could finally stop crying over the 2004 death of Sex and the City, HBO had given us a new TV show to talk about…
“It’s probably the smartest, funniest, most place defining TV show around” – THE GUARDIAN
Although a similar style show to SATC, in that it features plenty of Girl talk and plenty of Sex scenes, Hannah Horvath became a leading lady that us troubled twenty-something girls could actually relate to. Probably a lot more than Carrie Bradshaw! Whilst the ladies of SATC danced about New York in their Manolo Blahniks, drinking cocktails and meeting Rich Russian men, GIRLS deals with being broke, being unemployed, and worse – being in a job you think is beneath you. It also focuses on more serious issues such as drug abuse, alcoholism, marriage breakdowns, and of course there are the awkward and humiliating girl moments such as Marnie’s embarrassing-yourself-by-singing-a-solo-at-a-work-function-because-your-desperately-trying-to-win-your-boyfriend-back moment.
GIRLS is soon to be back on our screens with Season 4 (Woohoo) which means that GIRLS: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON is due for release on Blu-ray and DVD from 12th January 2015 (can I get another Woohoo?). It will also be available to download and watch instantly on digital download courtesy of HBO Home Entertainment.
