I wanted to do a Christmas Tag and so I hunted on Google and I found these questions last week. I was going to post straight away but I thought I would hold off until Christmas week. So here we go…
What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
A Muppets Christmas Carol. When I was a kid I used to watch it about five or six times in the run up to Christmas. I still try to watch it every year, although just the once this year. It’s a lovely film, with great music and it still makes me chuckle.
Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning! Who opens presents on Christmas eve? It’s just wrong, I mean, technically Santa hasn’t even been yet on Christmas eve, so how can you open something you haven’t been gifted with yet? Tut tut tut.
Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I couldn’t possibly pick one. I was very lucky growing up to have a wonderful Christmas ever single year. So I’d have to just say – Christmas as a child. Is that allowed? All of them were so fun. My parents would go to town on Christmas decorations, food and presents and worked really hard to convince me and my Sisters and my Brother that Father Christmas existed, which made it all the more special.
I’d say my favourite memory as an adult was the Christmas me and my two Sisters were all single, no boyfriends were visiting, and the three of us went out on Christmas Eve for drinks in the village (a Christmas Eve tradition) and all got drunk together, walked home singing Christmas Carols and then all fell asleep in the same bed.
Favourite festive food?
Turkey is great and everything, but we always, without fail, have sausage meat too. Big slices of it. So I’d say Sausage meat and stuffing. And Christmas pud obviously.
Favourite Christmas gift?
When I was younger I loved dolls. And one Christmas I got a ‘Baby Newborn’ who I named Holly. I would say she was probably my favourite, because I have so many memories of playing with her; I literally carried her everywhere with me for years and treated her like she was a real baby.
Favourite Christmas scent?
I just recently bought this Yankee candle called ‘Christmas Memories’ and it smells incredible. As soon as you light it you have the scent of Christmas Pudding floating through your home. I also love Cinnamon, and the smell of real Christmas Trees.
Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
The Pub. I don’t like to get too messy (not anymore anyway, haha) but its tradition for us to have a family meal, and then me and my Sister to head to the Village pubs where we will usually bump into lots of old school friends.
What tops your tree?
As a child it was always an angel. As an adult, a star. Isn’t that strange?
As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I remember so badly wanting a puppy or a dog. We were always told No. We did get dog in the end, but it was many years later and not for Christmas.
What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
The run-up to Christmas itself is fantastic – parties, shopping, I love it all. But Christmas morning is my favourite part. It’s the one day of the year that everyone wakes up at the same time, in a glorious mood, and there is such a wonderfully happy and excitable atmosphere. No work to go to and nothing to get you down. In our house, we get up early (still, even though I’m 28), we make a pot of tea, we open our stockings, then we all sit down to eat a big breakfast, we make more tea, and then we begin opening presents from under the tree and then we drink more tea. It’s just such a wonderful time.
I would like to tag EVERYONE that reads this post and loves Christmas. I would love to read all your answers, or watch in a video, so please do let me know if you respond to this tag.
