The Marmalade Collins Cocktail with Smirnoff

August 12, 2014

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]y sister has spent the past eight months being a brand new full time Mum, and on top of that in a week’s time she will make the transition back to Full time worker also, dividing her time between Meetings and Mothering. So, we felt a good old fashioned girly night was in order. Saturday night Jenuine came round to mine for an evening of gossiping, cocktailing, make-up swapping and outfit styling before we eventually tottered out in our heels to Soho.

For the occasion I decided to make a cocktail I had seen on Smirnoff’s YouTube channel – the Marmalade Collins. It’s a really tasty and super refreshing citrus cocktail, perfect for a summers afternoon.

Here isΒ what you will need:

  • Lemons/Lemon juice (25ml)
  • Marmalade
  • Sugar
  • 50ml Vodka (2 shots)
  • Ice
  • Soda Water or Lemonade
  • Straws – optional

Here are six simple steps to making yourself a Marmalade Collins:

Take an empty Jar and add 25ml of Lemon juice

Next add one teaspoon of marmalade, followed by one teaspoon of sugar

Then add 50ml of Vodka, which is two shots

Add some ice, put the lid of the jar on, then shake

When you take the lid off, you will hear the sugar fizzing. Add more Ice (if you like) and top with Soda Water or Lemonade

Finally add a pretty straw and a slice of lemon. Voila.

If you think you still need a little help, then check out the Smirnoff Video here and watch the bar tender makes it in just 60 seconds, it’s that easy. I love this drink for not only being so simple that even I can make it, but it’s more than likely you have most of the ingredients already. No need to go out shopping for grenadine syrup or coconut cream. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy – literally.
