Another wonderful Saturday spent in another beautiful part of London. Yesterday, The Beard and I along with some chums, headed to Cutty Sark, Greenwich, for the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival. The event showcases both UK and international street performers whilst also offering food and drink. With a clear blue sky and the sun shining bright we couldn’t think of a better way to spend our Saturday.
I love Cutty Sark, I used to work nearby and on a sunny day my work colleagues and I would venture down there for some food or a lunchtime drink. It was obviously much busier than usual though. As we approached the main festival area we were met by a huge ship that had been restored for the event. It looked amazing.
I’ve been trying to use my camera (a Nikon L310) a lot lately. I used to hate carrying it around, but it does take good pictures, ten times better than my iPhone camera which I just ended up using because I’d gotten lazy. So I’m learning to get used to having the proper camera around my neck and to use it as much as I can. So basically yesterday I got a bit happy snappy and took a zillion photos, I couldn’t put them all up here for fear I would actually crash my site, but I selected a few to share. It was a great day spent frolicking in the sun, catching some rays and watching some performances.
In the evening we headed over to the riverside and hung out with a bunch of people we met; it was such a friendly atmosphere. At 10pm a dance performance took place using fire and pyrotechnics which was pretty cool. We saw the loveliest sunset, and if you follow me on Instagram or read my photo diaries, you’ll know I just love my sunsets, so of course I had to get a picture. Enjoy the photos… [Pssst, look out for my mates Lego Nails, they are so cool]
Info: The Greenwich + Docklands International Festival is a free event and runs till June 28th 2014.
