I love New Year! It’s always a little sad when a year draws to an end, especially one as fantastic as 2013, but I just love starting a brand new year and making plans. And of course making my New Year resolutions. I normally make three resolutions (read last years here) and this years involve travel (again!), family and creativity
Communicate with my Family more
Family is the most important thing in the world. Being away from them over the past nine months has been really difficult, especially over the Christmas period. And being so far on the other side world has made it even more difficult to speak with them as the time difference is crazy; I’m 11 hours ahead. I’ve really missed my family lately especially as my Sister had a baby boy in November who I still haven’t met, and my niece, the daughter of my other Sister, is growing up so quick and I’m not there to see it. But despite the time difference difficulties I am going to make a super effort to communicate with them a lot more. If video calling can’t happen, I shall use every other form of communication to keep updated with them; mail, email, twitter, whatsapp, we have even set up a Family album on iCloud so that we can share all our photos, and of course updating the boyandgirlmeetsworld blog for them. I’m also hoping that at some point I will be able to head home to visit them and meet my new little nephew, baby Harry.
Return to Asia
I absolutely loved Asia, and had the best 14 weeks there. Everything about it was awesome, the people, the food, the culture. But I was really gutted we didn’t end up going to Cambodia. Not to mention there are so many places in Thailand I want to go back to as well as a few Islands that we didn’t get round to seeing. Being on this side of the world means we may as well take advantage of the cheap flights over that way, and I would absolutely love to go back there, even just for a short holiday.
Be more Creative (DIY)
I literally haven’t done a DIY post since I left the UK in April! That’s pretty shocking, as I used to love doing them. It’s going to be pretty difficult to do as I’m moving into a hostel this week, but hopefully I will be able to get some DIY posts done in the upcoming weeks.
Of course there is the usual ‘eat better’, ‘exercise more’ yada yada yada, but I’m kidding myself if I think I’m actually going to do that. I’ve never been one to stick to those sort of resolutions, I can of course try, but the three New Year resolutions above are a lot more important to me.
