2013 has been possibly one of the best years of my life (so far). Without getting too deep and soppy, this year has definitely made me realise that you can do anything you put your mind too; dreams really can come true!
This time last year I was still working in my marketing role and living comfortably in my box flat in London. Whilst I was quite content, and somewhat lucky in that position, it wasn’t enough for me, I had so many more boxes I wanted to tick off.
I began the year same as always, doing my daily commute on the tube, working away at Channel 5 HQ and spending weekends doing as little as possible in order to save money. But on April 2nd everything changed…
After months of hardwork, mega saving and heaps of planning, my boyfriend and I moved out the flat, packed up our rucksacks and headed off to see what life is like on the other side of the world. Five countries, 21 cities, 22 hostels, ten flights and countless bus journeys later I’ve ticked off so many of those boxes (but still not enough) I’ve climbed on the Great Wall, rode Elephants in Thailand, fished on Halong Bay and swam with Sharks in Australia, to name just a few. It’s been one hell of a year, and Ive got all my fingers and toes crossed that 2014 will be just as crazy, but for now here are my 2013 highlights in photos..
