Australia My Life Travel

Greetings from Melbourne

December 23, 2013

This is yet another ‘I’m sorry for the lack of blog posts’ blog post. My blog is my baby, and I’m basically the worst mother in the world for neglecting it so much. Rather than reel off my list of excuses, I shall instead give you a jolly little run down of what I’ve been up to since my last blog post which was a staggering six weeks ago …

My last post featured my Blogtober pictures, which exhibited snaps of my life; working and gallivanting away in Brisbane. I headed into the month of November continuing to work in the city of Brisbane, spending Tuesdays to Saturdays working, and having Sundays and Mondays to spend with my boy, often accompanied by Dave the Doggy who belonged to my house mates. But by mid-November, after two months of solid work, I had saved enough money for me and Larz to head back on the road. ROAD TRIP.

So Larz and I hit up Cairns, a beautiful beach town in North Queensland, where we went snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, lazed in the lagoon, and had a week of drinking A LOT of Goon (bags of wine). We then flew back down, hired a campervan and drove to Byron Bay on the coast, a really pretty surfer town. Then we headed inland to the hippie town Nimbin, which was a real eye-opening and wonderful three days. We hiked through the rainforest, saw waterfalls and stunning viewpoints, not too mention some incredible wildlife.

This brings me to the 9th of December, the day we actually left Brisbane for good. Whilst travelling in Thailand, we met an Australian couple – Alex and Pixie – who invited us to spend Christmas with them. So fly we did to the wonderful city of Melbourne (which is where I am writing this from). We’ve been here two weeks, doing lots of job hunting, but mostly having endless fun with Alex and Pixie and their crew. The job hunting did pay off as I bagged myself a job, which I started last Friday.

So there you have it, that’s my general overall excuse reason for the lack of blog posts. And here I am, living and working in Melbourne. Now that I’m (sort of) settled, I PROMISE to get back to blogging. In terms of travel blogging, I’m still updating our travel blog so make sure to check it out if you want to see all our holiday snaps and read about our adventures. It’s still a little behind, but I’m working on it.
