I’ve spent the past week and a half working for Kaboodle Designs, a Sydney based company who design vintage inspired jewellery and stunning handbags. They were running a pop up store at Brisbane’s EKKA festival for ten days. It was their first time showing in Brisbane, so they required some help to work throughout the festival and I was lucky enough to land a job assisting them.
I worked 8 of the 10 days and had a blast. I got to help set up the store, laying out the stock, colour blocking and helping make the place look pretty. But mainly my job was helping customers try on and style the bags and advising on the gorgeous Kaboodle necklace watches.
Kaboodle Designs is owned by Penny Lane, who designs all the bags and pieces herself, and even hand crafts all the jewellery in her Sydney workshop. It was only a ten day assignment, so unfortunately I’m no longer working with Kaboodle *sad face* but it was such a great experience and so different from my previous job, that it has definitely made me consider future work in Fashion or Beauty Retail.
Penny very kindly let me use the staff discount, so I went a bit mad with my wages – money I’m supposed to be saving – on purchasing a few Kaboodle Goodies, so I’m currently working on a Haul. I’ve only ever done one Haul before, my eBay haul (click here to read), so I’m looking forward to posting my second. Stay tuned for the Kaboodle Haul, and if you fancy checking out Penny’s designs, head to www.kaboodledesigns.com.au
